Namaste, plant lover! I'm the Ixora, your vibrant and cheerful companion who brings a burst of tropical color and endless blooms to your space! With my stunning clusters of star-shaped flowers and glossy evergreen leaves, I'm here to create a festive atmosphere that feels like a permanent celebration. I'm the plant that keeps the party going all year round!
I'm a spectacular flowering shrub known for my large, dense clusters of bright flowers that come in fiery shades of red, orange, pink, yellow, and white!
Gardeners and flower lovers adore me for my long blooming season, glossy dark green leaves, and the way I attract butterflies and hummingbirds to create a lively, magical garden.
I'm perfect for hedges, containers, garden borders, and as a colorful accent plant — anywhere you want to add tropical flair and non-stop color!
I originally come from the tropical regions of Asia, particularly India and Sri Lanka, where I thrive in warm, humid conditions and am often used in traditional gardens and temples.
Keep my soil consistently moist but not waterlogged — I love regular drinks!
Water me when the top inch of soil feels dry, usually every 2-3 days in summer.
I'm quite thirsty, especially when flowering, but I hate sitting in soggy soil!
I thrive in full sun to partial shade — at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best blooms!
The more sun I get, the more flowers I produce and the more vibrant my colors become.
Too little light will reduce my flowering and make me grow leggy.
I prefer warm, tropical temperatures between 18°C and 35°C.
I'm sensitive to cold and frost — protect me when temperatures drop below 10°C.
Choose a location with well-draining, acidic soil
Use rich, organic potting mix with good drainage
Plant me at the same depth I was in my nursery container
Water thoroughly immediately after planting
Place me where I'll receive plenty of morning sun and afternoon shade
I make a stunning hedge or colorful border when planted in groups!
I can be propagated from stem cuttings
Feed me with acid-loving plant fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during growing season.
I'm a moderate feeder — regular nutrition keeps my blooms coming and colors bright!
Use compost or vermicompost for organic care, and add iron supplements if leaves yellow.
