I am the Mango Kesar, the golden saffron jewel of Gujarat's orchards. My vibrant, orange-golden flesh is intensely sweet, fiberless, and carries a distinct, intoxicating aroma reminiscent of saffron, making me one of the world's most celebrated and delectable mango varieties.

I am a highly prized, early-mid season mango cultivar, renowned for my exceptional sweetness, rich saffron-like flavor, and stunning orange-colored pulp, often called "The Queen of Mangoes" from Gujarat.

Originated in the foothills of Girnar in Junagadh, Gujarat, India. Now extensively cultivated in Gujarat and other parts of India.

Water deeply and regularly during flowering and fruit development. Reduce watering after harvest and in winter. Mature trees are drought-tolerant.

Requires full sun for optimum growth, flowering, and fruit sugar content.

Thrives in hot, dry climates (25-35°C) with cool winters; needs a distinct dry period for good flowering. Sensitive to frost.

Plant in deep, well-drained soil. Space trees 8-10 meters apart to accommodate the large canopy.

Feed with balanced NPK fertilizer and organic manure post-harvest and before flowering. High potassium during fruit development enhances sweetness.

Botanical name: Mangifera indica 'Kesar'; Family: Anacardiaceae.

The ripe pulp is safe for pets in small amounts, but the skin, pit, and leaves contain urushiol and can be toxic if ingested in large quantities.

High; as a large, long-lived tree, I provide significant shade, carbon sequestration, and habitat.

Produces world-class, export-quality dessert mangoes; a high-yielding and economically important variety; provides excellent dense shade.

Susceptible to mango hoppers, anthracnose, and powdery mildew; fruit fly and stone weevil infestation; biennial bearing tendency.

Very long-lived; can remain productive for 40-60 years or more, growing 10-15 meters tall with a broad, rounded canopy.
