All Details

I am the delicate Rain Lily, nature's joyful surprise after a summer shower. My slender green leaves and charming, star-shaped blooms in white, pink, or yellow suddenly appear, bringing fleeting magic and cheerful color to gardens, lawns, and containers.

I am a small, bulbous perennial plant, cherished for my habit of bursting into bloom swiftly after rainfall, creating spontaneous drifts of color.

Native to the Americas, from the southeastern United States to Argentina; naturalized and cultivated in warm-temperate to tropical gardens worldwide.

Water regularly during active growth and flowering. Tolerates dry spells when dormant. The "rain" cue often triggers blooming.

Prefers full sun to partial shade. Flowers best with plenty of direct sunlight.

Thrives in 15-30°C; bulbs can survive light frost if mulched, but foliage may die back.

Plant bulbs 5-8 cm deep and 10-15 cm apart in well-drained, fertile soil. Naturalizes easily.

Light feeding with a balanced bulb fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges.

Botanical name: Zephyranthes spp. (e.g., Zephyranthes candida - white, Zephyranthes rosea - pink); Common names: Fairy Lily, Zephyr Lily; Family: Amaryllidaceae.

Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. All parts of the plant contain lycorine, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea.

Low; primarily valued for ornamental beauty and ecological contribution in gardens.

Provides quick, delightful blooms after rain; excellent for rock gardens, borders, and naturalizing in lawns; low-maintenance and drought-tolerant.

Bulb rot in waterlogged soil; few pest issues, but snails/slugs may eat foliage; may not bloom without a sufficient dry period followed by rain/watering.

Long-lived from bulbs; will naturalize and multiply over time, forming larger clumps. Grows 15-30 cm tall in bloom.

Everyday 8:30AM to 6:30PM
