Native to Australia; introduced to India in the 19th century, especially Nilgiri Hills.
Moderately drought-tolerant; water weekly when young.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 15–30°C; tolerates cool highlands.
Plant in deep, well-drained soil; spacing 3–4 meters apart for plantations.
Minimal; compost annually for young trees.

Leaves and oil are toxic if ingested by pets.
High; aromatic oils repel insects and purify air.
Leaves yield eucalyptus oil (used in medicine, balms, inhalants); timber used for pulp, poles, and fuelwood.
