I am Gulmohar, the flame of the tropics. My wide-spreading branches burst into a blaze of scarlet flowers, turning streets and gardens into living paintings. I thrive in warm climates, offering shade, beauty, and cultural charm.
I am a tropical ornamental tree producing clusters of bright red-orange flowers.
Native to Madagascar; widely cultivated in India, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
Water weekly when young; drought-tolerant once mature.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 8–10 meters apart; suited for avenues and parks.
Minimal; compost annually for young trees.
Botanical name: Delonix regia; Family: Fabaceae.
Non-toxic; not used as fodder.
Moderate; large canopy reduces dust and heat.
