I am the Banyan, the living forest in a single tree. My branches send down roots that become new trunks, allowing me to spread endlessly. I thrive in warm climates, offering shade, shelter, and spiritual significance across generations.
I am a fig tree with aerial roots that form new trunks, creating vast canopies.
Native to the Indian subcontinent; revered in Hinduism and Buddhism.
Water weekly when young; drought-tolerant once mature.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 20–35°C; cannot tolerate frost.
Plant in deep, well-drained soil; spacing not required as I spread naturally.
Minimal; compost annually for young trees.
Botanical name: Ficus benghalensis; Family: Moraceae.
Fruits edible but not commonly consumed; latex may irritate pets.
