Hey there, friend! I'm the Croton, your flamboyant and colorful companion that brings a fireworks display of foliage to your space. With my spectacular leaves painted in vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, and green, I'm here to turn your home into a tropical art gallery!
I'm a stunning tropical plant famous for my thick, leathery leaves that come in an incredible variety of shapes and patterns, all splashed with brilliant colors that look like they've been hand-painted.
Plant enthusiasts and interior designers adore me for my dramatic coloration, architectural form, and the instant tropical vibe I bring to any room.
I'm perfect for bright rooms, offices, and as a focal point — anywhere you want to make a bold, colorful statement that lasts all year!
I originally come from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, where I grow in warm, humid conditions with filtered light.
Water me when the top inch of soil feels dry — usually once a week.
I prefer consistent moisture but don't like soggy soil.
I love humidity and appreciate regular misting or a pebble tray.
I thrive in bright, indirect light for 4-6 hours daily for the most vibrant colors!
The more light I get, the more intense and colorful my leaves will be.
Too little light will make my colors fade to plain green.
I'm comfortable in temperatures between 15°C and 35°C.
I'm quite heat-tolerant but need protection from severe frost.
Choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent root rot
Use well-draining potting soil rich in organic matter
Plant me at the same depth I was in my nursery pot
Water thoroughly after repotting
Place me in the brightest spot available (but no direct hot sun)
Maintain high humidity around me
Rotate me regularly for even growth and color
Feed me with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring.
I love phosphorus-rich formulas to support my spectacular blooming.
Well-rotted manure or compost works wonderfully for organic feeding.
Scientific Name: Codiaeum variegatum

I'm toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested, so please keep me out of reach of pets and children.
I'm excellent at improving indoor air quality by absorbing toxins and releasing oxygen, while my large, colorful leaves are particularly effective at filtering airborne pollutants!
Spectacular, year-round colorful foliage
Excellent natural air purifier
Adds instant tropical elegance to any space
Multiple varieties with different leaf shapes and patterns

With proper care, I can thrive indoors for many years — typically 5-10 years or more, growing steadily and maintaining my vibrant colors when kept in stable, bright conditions!
