I am Ashopalav, also known as the Indian Mast Tree or False Ashoka. With my tall, slender frame and cascading green leaves, I bring elegance and calm to cityscapes, gardens, and temple paths. I’m evergreen, low-maintenance, and often planted for privacy, windbreaks, and ornamental beauty. My presence is peaceful, upright, and always graceful.

I am a tall, slender evergreen tree with drooping green leaves, often planted for privacy, beauty, and cultural symbolism.

Native to southern India and Sri Lanka; widely planted across tropical Asia.

Water moderately; increase frequency during dry spells.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade.

Prefers warm climates between 20–35°C.

Plant in well-drained soil; space 1.5–2 meters apart for hedging.

Apply compost or balanced NPK fertilizer twice a year.

Botanical name: Monoon longifolium (syn. Polyalthia longifolia); Family: Annonaceae.

Generally non-toxic to pets; monitor for leaf ingestion.

Moderate; helps reduce noise and dust pollution in urban areas.

Used for landscaping, windbreaks, and noise reduction; adds vertical greenery.

May suffer from leaf drop in poor soil or extreme drought.

Can live 30–50 years with minimal maintenance.
