All Details

I am the Touch-Me-Not plant, nature's shy performer. My delicate, fern-like leaves fold inward instantly when touched, and my fluffy pink pom-pom flowers add a playful, sensitive charm to gardens, fascinating children and adults alike.

I am a fast-growing annual or perennial herb, famous for my rapid seismonastic movement (leaf folding when touched) and ornamental pink flowers, often grown for curiosity and education.

Native to South and Central America; now naturalized and widespread in tropical and subtropical regions around the world.

Water regularly to keep soil consistently moist. I thrive in humid conditions and do not tolerate drought well.

Prefers partial shade to full sun. In very hot climates, afternoon shade is beneficial.

Thrives in warm temperatures (20-30°C); sensitive to frost and cold weather.

Plant in well-draining, fertile soil. Space plants 30-45 cm apart. Can self-seed readily.

Feed every 4-6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer to support growth and flowering.

Botanical name: Mimosa pudica; Common names: Sensitive Plant, Humble Plant, Shameplant; Family: Fabaceae.

Considered mildly toxic to cats, dogs, and horses if ingested in large quantities, potentially causing gastrointestinal distress.

Low; mainly grown for its unique behavioral trait and ornamental value rather than air purification.

Provides educational interest due to its rapid movement; attractive to pollinators like bees; can be used as a ground cover in suitable climates.

Susceptible to spider mites, especially in dry indoor air; can become weedy or invasive in warm climates; root rot from overwatering.

Typically grown as an annual, but can be a short-lived perennial in frost-free zones (zones 9-11). Grows 30-90 cm tall.

Everyday 8:30AM to 6:30PM
